Tai Chi FundamentalsTM

Tai Chi (Taiji) is an ancient Chinese martial art that is well known for its slow, graceful movements and has been shown to improve balance, coordination, and many other aspects of both physical and mental wellbeing. Tai Chi FundamentalsTM was developed through collaboration between a traditional Tai Chi teacher and a physical therapist. It is designed to impart the authentic essence of traditional Tai Chi in stages of progressive complexity. Tai Chi FundamentalsTM has three basic components: Movement Patterns, Form, and Mind-Body Principles. Movement Patterns are tools for cultivating the coordination and quality of movement required for Tai Chi practice. The Form is a “moving meditation,” a sequence of movements that has been shown to improve many aspects of one’s physical and mental health. Mind-Body Principles are the theory and philosophy that inform Tai Chi practice and can be applied to daily life.
